April Fun

Abby made a monkey house for one of Maddie's favorite monkey toys.  She took picture of it because she wanted to remember how to make it again.  I thought it was very creative.

Brandon went fishing.  Between what he caught and what his 2 buddies gave him, he ended up with 8 trout.  4 were really large and 4 were "small" (and by small, I mean adult sized portions still...probably 6-7 inches on the smaller ones not counting the tail part and probably 8-10 inches on the larger ones not counting the tail part.

Maddie was hanging around when I was cooking them.  She kept saying, "fishies" and climbing on the stool to look and I was telling her how yummy they would be.  I thought she might like a closer look so I held the bowl closer to her and she screamed and ran away.  She wouldn't eat them except for when I pulled it to very small pieces and told her it was meat.

Fell asleep in his bouncy seat.
Poor baby

Isaiah put a crown on him and took a picture.

all the kids...Noah was in a "I'm not smiling and you can't make me" mood...but if you look closely, he's smiling behind his hand in one or two of them.

We went to the park.  It was very, very bright and hot.

I wished I had my sunglasses the whole time.

I went into the shade of the picnic pavilion and it wasn't as hot and bright and I didn't feel like Pip was going to sunburn.

Isaiah showed him how to rip up grass.  He thought this was awesome and proceeded to try to rip up all the grass.

It was hot.  They are all waiting their turn to drink out of the camelback in the stroller basket.

Emma gave him a dandelion

which he tried to eat

I let him sit in the grass and he seemed to like it

He can "kinda" sit by himself...kinda...not really...
but a little

Isaiah wanted to take a picture of me...it was still too bright in the shadows

Maddie wouldn't say please when it was her turn to drink water.  She kept shoving Jubi out of the way so Brandon sat her down and kept telling her to say please and then she'd get water.  She was being stubborn and wouldn't do it so she didn't get water.  (but the lesson took because as soon as she came home, she immediately said "Please.  Water.  Me." to him in the kitchen.

I was playing dolls with Jubi and Maddie

Jubi took a picture of herself.  She does this a lot lately.

Maddie made "Mama". ;)

It snowed.  Apparently it snowed A LOT at the airport.  They canceled a ton of flights and stuff.  Our church was canceled.  This is what it looked like at our house though.

"Really?  Do you really think I'm going to stay here?"

"I figured out how to get out of that little baby chair...it's only a matter of time before I figure this one out too."

Abby "saloned" the kids who would let her.

I made this dress for my doll.  I thought it was really cute so I took this picture of it.

Then I played dolls with three of the girls.  (Emma, Isaiah, and Noah were busy playing Lego Dinosaur games.)

Maddie loves purple right now and this purple dress I made for this doll made her very happy.  She loves it.  "Purple...dolly...me!"

Jubilee likes this one best.

School wouldn't be complete without the occasional younger sibling interrupting your train of thought.  Maddie with a star wars light saber.

Isaiah and Maddie were sitting together so cute.  Sharing a chair... (child sized chair...not sure how that was working) but he was telling her stories and stuff.  :)

Abby made Isaiah a tie and then she made him pose for a picture.

Emma took this picture of herself and told me to post it on here.  Okay.....

Watching movies.  Noah's hard to photograph lately.  He's in a "no pictures" stage. I caught them when they weren't looking.  Watching a school movie.  He was holding Maddie because she was "scared".  (I think she was actually tired.  They were watching ABCs... So, no...not scary...but I think she doesn't know the right word.)
He was rolling around on the floor...spitting up on the carpet.  Brandon says, "how come you don't put him on a blanket?"  I said, "Well, I did, but it was three feet away and he rolled off."

The kids enjoyed each making a paper slice of cake to celebrate Maddie's birthday.  We all made one except Brandon and Pip.  Brandon was at work.  So we made "his" for him.

Birthmark or scar.  Brandon says this is the leg that got pulled on the most when he was stuck so maybe it's from that?

Abby made party games for Maddie's birthday.  They were all strawberry shortcake themed.
This one was, "Point to the fruit with a blindfold on".  She also made a tic tac toe game with strawberries and blueberries as the markers.

This one was find the strawberry shortcake toys hidden around the room.

This one was "pin the parts on the strawberry doll"

Maddie opened her presents.  I'll give you a hint.  My room smelled like strawberries before we opened the presents and they were wrapped!!!  She's really into this one thing right now... plays with the few we have all the time...

Strawberry shortcake dolls and a big doll and a bunny baby because she also loves bunnies right now.

Her cake.  She picked the colors herself.
(This was really good if you ever want to try it...
1 box of cake mix (in this case strawberry)
1 can of pie filling (strawberry)
3 eggs
mix and bake as directed on box (about 30 min at 350ยบ)
I put cream cheese icing on it
It was so moist and yummy!
They suggested Lemon and Bluberry pie filling, or apple pie filling with spice cake or carrot cake or butter pecan cake, or chocolate cake with cherry pie filling (I'm going to try this one next time I have a cake craving and no birthday kid picking the flavors)

I love her face in this one

"This song is a few seconds too long, guys."

She had trouble getting the candles out

This is literally her "blow" face.

But she's adorable anyway

Brandon went fishing on April 8 but since I took these from his page, they put them at the bottom since they weren't date stamped the same way as my other ones. He went with 2 of his work buddies. He caught 4 fish and the other 2 guys caught 4 between them and gave theirs to him so we ended up with a TON of fish... like, we had leftovers. Apparently these guys like fishing but don't really like to eat trout.

These are the small ones...that's a huge skillet to, by the way.  I think it's a 10 or 12 inch skillet.  It can easily fit a 9x9 square pan in it.

Typical Abby.  This was taken at church one day by one of our friends and sent to me.
