I was cooking lunch or something. I left her in the bumbo chair with the big kids playing with her. She got quiet so I came back to find her asleep on the piano they had "built" for her.

This little boy has discovered he can stand on his head. He is always doing this on the stairs or on chairs or on the couch or against the wall... and sometimes even more upright.

Waiting for "Daddy's rocket" (satellite) to launch. They were pretty much glued to the computer when there was something like 15 minutes to go still.
and even when there was still a lot of talking and explaining what was going on and a lot of looking at the "rocket" sitting there doing nothing...they wouldn't tear away from the computer.
I was even making cookies during this time...
Then they all asked for paper and started drawing what they were seeing.

One very brave mama or one very stupid one. They are coloring on pieces of milk carton with sharpies. We were making little window art things. (like Stained glass) Jubilee got bored with this part of school, can you tell? She did color 2 or 3 of them though.
"Um...I don't think I'm supposed to be balanced on you like this, mom."
"Yeah. I'm not sure I'm ready for this yet."

Then, I taught the boys how to do scrambled eggs. Abby was a quick learner of this skill since bread and eggs are her favorite things ever so she was helping out.
I discovered eggs make cheap (cheaper) taco fillers than having to do extra meat and the kids don't care if we mix lunch style tacos with breakfast style tacos.

Riding toys and the swings are her favorite things when she's outside. She's kind of a dare devil.

One breezy, cool day in the 70's or something...and 3 of my kids think it's coat weather.
I told the girls they could paint their toenails one time while I was cooking supper. I heard them also painting the boys's toes, but it wasn't until later that I found out they had painted Madeleine's toes too. hahaha and yeah, that's a tiny sticker jewel on the big toe.

Playing legos...I caught Abby sitting here pushing Maddie with her foot in the walker while she played legos. Maddie doesn't like to sit still.

I've discovered: I don't like to cook but I like to eat and I like to experiment so as long as I'm trying out new things now and then, it's more fun to have to do the cooking chore. It's kind of like I have to do when I clean...play music really loud and try to beat the songs when I do something... "I have to load the dishwasher before 1 song is over. I have to mop the floor in 3 songs..." or whatever.

Just one smile before church turned into

Looking at a hot air balloon hanging so close you can wave to the people. This is actually common in this area. One almost crash landed in our street once and another landed in the field by the park.
It looks further away than it is. I'm not kidding when I say they were waving at the kids and the kids were waving back.

I'm sooo excited about this! :) I saw it on Amazon for something like $1 and like $3 S&H or something... and so I got it since it's pretty much not in print. I am reading it to the kids and they are all enjoying it. :) I'm going to need a good boy book next though. While the boys are listening too, I still think I'll have to try something in boy-interest next.

Porkchops and veggies. This was such a favorite meal that there wasn't any seconds left for Brandon or me. The kids all ate seconds though.

I made this doll and weighted it so that you have to support the head like a real baby. The kids can't decide if it's a girl or a boy. They are divided on the issue. I liked this picture of Abby though, more than anything, that's what I wanted to show you here.
The doll weighs 5 lbs. Jubilee can barely lift it or carry it around. When she does, she says, "heavy, heavy, heavy, heavy!"
I was nursing and I heard Jubilee messing around in the kitchen. I said, "Jubilee, you don't need to be in there." She came out of the kitchen a second later like this. That's 3 slices of bread on a clean plate from the cabinet. She replied, "Ha! I have my sandwich! I have my sandwich, mom!"
Jubilee LOVES the doll house people right now. They are her very favorites. The mommy's pants are rubbing off and it looks like her underwear is showing.
She loves Madeleine...but it's clearly a different kind of love than you see coming through in the pictures of Abby holding Emma at about this age or Isaiah holding Noah at about this age. See, how her arm is just there? She won't really wrap it around? They love each other, it is true. There's no denying that, but she's more of the "don't touch me" type, I guess when it comes to Maddie. (Maddie likes to pull hair a lot so I'd guess that might be part of it.)
My church gave me flowers for Maddie. :) (They really wanted to do a baby shower after the summer when everyone was back from vacation and stuff.)
Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to have twins...
then I realize, it would probably be a lot like this.

One day I noticed she was trying to put the binky in. (This was before she really got good with the hands...and started sucking on her fingers all the time.) Notice her lips are pursed toward her hands.

Jubi handed me the hat. She didn't want it on her. She wanted it on me. After I did that, she insisted I needed to take a picture.
Then, as usual, we were joined by multiple others.
"Look! It's a dolly with hair just for me!!!"
We found a great grasshopper jar.
It has one large hole for putting grasshoppers in and one with small holes for letting air in.
